    Introduction

    In this tutorial I want to introduce you to Grinder and its options. All the basics will be explained from start to end. You will not only get a first insight but you will be able to use your Grinder as you like. More advanced tutorials on certain features like Pathfinder or the Rotation System are linked in this tutorial. However, they are also explained here in a beginner-friendly way.




    Please make sure you have disabled all additional Addons except GDR.

    Grinder: Tool



    Game Window, Frames and Sensitivity


    Launch Grinder from your Bottie Launcher.

    Waiting for Window
    Grinder waits for an open World of Warcraft window.

    Waiting for Frames
    Grinder waits for a logged in character.

    Sensitivity
    If Grinder does not automatically detect your frames after you are logged in, increase the sensitivity. Otherwise, reset your graphics settings to default.

    Module: Notifications


    E-Mail
    All messages will be sent to your notification email address. You can change it at any time in your account at login.bottie.net.

    Pushover
    Click Edit to the right of Pushover and enter your Pushover data. You will find the Key in your Pushover App and the Token in your web login on pushover.net. Create an application in your Pushover web account.

    The desired notifications can be set via the addon under the tab "More".

    Multi-Session


    Start up to 4 Grinder clients at the same time via New Session. It is also possible to use it on different PCs; up to a maximum of 4 sessions at the same time.

    It is necessary to bind Grinder to the window via the Attach Button. To do this, click on the Attach Button and then select the window.

    Auto-Relog

    Profile Name
    Enter a unique profile name.

    Login (E-Mail)
    This field is optional and is only needed if "Remember Account Name" is not enabled in the login.

    Password
    Your account password.

    Account Selection
    This field is optional and is only needed if "Remember Account Name" is not activated in the login and multiple games are managed.

    Hint!
    Email addresses and passwords are only stored locally and with low encryption.

    Grinder: AddOn



    Auto-Setup

    After you have logged in with your character, Grinder will guide you step by step through the Auto-Setup. The window will open automatically. Otherwise, click on the Grinder icon to the left of the minimap.

    If you are in combat, Grinder will open the Auto-Setup only after you have left combat.



    Action Bars

    During Auto-Setup, Grinder will take over the top and bottom action bars. This is where your spells will be placed automatically. In addition, two macros will be created that Grinder will need to execute predefined automations.

    Then open the main menu by clicking on the Grinder icon to the left of the minimap.




    Pathfinder



    Create a new Pathfinder Profile


    Click New Profile to create a new Pathfinder profile.

    Give your profile a name.

    Click on Create Path to create a new path.

    Recorder - Create a new Path

    Auto Distance
    Select the distance in yards that your recorder should automatically create a waypoint.

    Start
    Click on Start and run your lap. For example, if you have set 30 yards in your Auto Distance, a new waypoint will be created automatically every 30 yards.

    Stop
    Use the Stop button to end the automatic recording mode.

    Single Coord
    Creates a single waypoint.
    The combination of single and automatic waypoints is also possible.

    Exact Coord
    If this coordinate is set, Grinder will stop there and aim exactly at the next coordinate before Grinder will move on.

    Reset
    Resets all previous set waypoints.

    Save
    Opens the menu for saving.

    By clicking on the Save button you get to the path selection. On the left side you will find all path types. Leave it at the preselection or choose "New Path" and enter a name for your path.

    Then click on Save to save your path.

    Your path(s) will be displayed sorted in your Pathfinder tab.
    Create as many paths as you like in your profile. By clicking on the respective path, they will be loaded and displayed on the mini- and world map.




    Combat Rotation



    Create a new Combat Rotation Profile


    Open the Tab Rotation.
    Click New Profile to create a new Combat Rotation.

    Give your rotation a name.
    Grinder categorizes all saved profile names in the dropdown menu by class (Mage, Hunter, Warlock, etc.).

    Create a new Combat Rotation


    Click on Add Spells.
    Another window will open where you can select Spells, Items and Macros. Use the search function to find your desired selection faster.

    Select a Spell, Item or Macro of your choice and click on it to add it to your Combat Rotation.

    In a brief overview, Grinder wants to know what this is all about.

    Heal
    To heal your character during the fight.

    Combat
    In all situations that occur during the fight.

    Food/Drink
    To regenerate your character.

    Out of Combat
    Renewable Spells like Buffs, Auras, or craftable items.

    Do not recast if active
    If your selection causes damage over time on the target, your selection will not be re-executed as long as it is active.

    Confirm your selection by clicking Add.

    In this example, we select a Spell again. This time, a Buff. Check the box for Out of Combat and another box for Do not recast if active. This way the spell will only be applied outside of combat if it is not active. Bitte melden Sie sich an, um diesen Anhang zu sehen.



    There are now two spells in our Combat rotation. One Buff and one Combat spell. Clicking on the respective spell will give you more options to expand your rotation in more detail. These will be explained in the advanced tutorials (see below).

    Class Settings



    Settings

    Click on the tab with the name of your class.
    Each class has its own settings. Click on the icon and select the corresponding spell and activate the checkmark.

    All settings are optional and work independently of your Combat Rotation.




    Options



    Target


    Pull Distance
    Defines from which distance combats should start and spells should be executed.
    Grinder distinguishes between two modes: Melee and Range. Melee fighters start in a range between 0 - 5 yards.

    Max Distance
    Grinder continuously searches for enemies on his route (if not deactivated). If an enemy is found that meets all the criteria, Grinder will only attack him once he is within this range.

    Tools: Auto Sell


    Click on the Configuration button to the right of Auto Sell. Determines which items should be sold and which should not.

    Under Whitelist Items enter all items you don't want Grinder to sell or set or delete an item on your whitelist by SHIFT + right click on the item in your bag.

    Close the window to save all settings. Check the Active box to activate the tool.

    Tools: Auto Equip


    Grinder compares each collected item with your current equipment. If the item is higher in item level and meets the criteria specified here, Grinder will automatically equip it for you.

    Armor Type
    Sets the armor types.

    Weapon Type
    Sets the weapon types.

    Quality Type
    Sets the quality types.

    BOE
    Specifies whether items that are bound when picked up should be equipped.

    Close the window to save all settings.
    Check the Active box to activate the tool.

    Professions and More


    Skinning / Gather Mobs
    Determines whether a mob should be skin or its herbs should be collected after a fight. Grinder can only collect the last killed enemy.

    Use Mount
    Click on the checkbox or icon to select a mount. If the checkbox is set, Grinder will use it on yours. Enemies in the immediate vicinity that match your criteria will still be visited by Grinder on foot.

    Reg before Loot
    Determines whether to regenerate first after a combat.

    Reg when no Food
    If your character has less than 35% life, Grinder will wait until the life is back to at least 90%. This only applies to rotations without Food / Drink. If your rotation contains one or more Food / Drink, but is empty, this function will not be executed.

    Check my Bags
    Grinder checks the number of items in your bags at regular intervals. Select or deselect bags to exclude them from the check. Quivers or Soul Pouchs should be deselected.

    Follow fleeing Target
    Determines whether to follow enemies that flee during a fight.

    More



    Shutdown

    When activated Grinder will close the game under the specified condition.

    Shutdown after
    First select the desired condition. Then enter the corresponding value in the text field. Check the Active box to activate this option.

    Hearthstone

    Select your Hearthstone. Grinder will use it before he finishes the game.



    Notifications

    Talents

    When exporting a profile, the talent tree can also be exported. If you use a profile that has an integrated talent tree, it will be displayed here. If this function is activated, Grinder will automatically distribute the talent points when leveling.




    Context Menu



    In-Game Console


    Right-clicking on the Grinder Bar or the Grinder icon opens the context menu. Using the individual menu items, further settings can be set or settings can be made more quickly.

    Click on Show Console to open your in-game console. It contains all information about your character.

    Target



    Info

    Select an NPC or player.
    You will receive more information about your target via the displayed box.



    Settings

    With a right-click on the target icon you can make further settings. Each setting refers to the name of the target. For example, if a target is added to the blacklist, all targets with this name will no longer be attacked.

    Add Target to Blacklist
    Determines whether Grinder should attack/ignore the target. Does not apply if the target is attacking.

    Add Target to not gatherable Mobs
    With Skinning/Gathering enabled, Grinder will no longer attempt to gather this target.

    Add Target to Kill It!
    Grinder follows given conditions while respecting its own. If a target is on the Kill It! list, all conditions are ignored except for keeping the distance.




    Ready to Start!



    Hit the Start Button


    Press Start in your Grinder Bar to start Grinder.
    Please do not forget to start the Grinder Tool (Windows/Desktop).
